Virtuoso Piano and Devilish Fiddle
Piano wizard Simon Tedeschi and violin master Ian Cooper are in their own right, virtuosos, with the ability to perform the great classical repertoire as well as improvise over the coolest Jazz.
Performing everything from Bach to Brubeck, The Classics, Jazz and Gypsy with their trade-mark wit and enthusiasm, be amazed and entertained as these two instrumental geniuses try to out-do each other. Guaranteed to be a brilliant and fun show.
“Putting Tedeschi and Cooper together is like mixing nitro with glycerine - an explosion of musical virtuosity” James Morrison
When you have Simon Tedeschi on stage, you know for sure that there's going to be technical wizardry, musical depth, astounding versatility, and, in short, 'true greatness' (Sun Herald). Add virtuoso violinist and maverick entertainer Ian Cooper to the mix, and you have a musical recipe that has been described as like 'mixing nitro with glycerine' by James Morrison.
Simon Tedeschi has played in 30 countries around the globe, for presidents and queens, princesses and celebrities. He's even played for the Dalai Lama! Awarded a Centenary Medal by John Howard, Simon’s hands have been in all your lounge rooms – when he played the hand double of the young David Helfgott in the Oscar winning film Shine.
Ian Cooper is a fiddler, but that alone doesn’t even begin to describe him. He’s played with everyone from Tommy Emmanuel, James Morrison, Slim Dusty to Olivia Newtown - John. He played his own composition at the Olympics in front of billions of people. He’s also a pilot and yachtsman.
Together, these two men paint a musical picture that encompasses the world of music – jazz, classical, country, gypsy, swing, blues…you name it, Tedeschi and Cooper can do it. Their program will feature some of the all-time greatest hits: Aint’ Misbehavin’, the Tango from the movie ‘Scent of a woman,’ Bolero and yes - Simon’s signature tune Rhapsody in Blue!
